New Electrical Standards require RCD's on all Circuits

The AS/NZS 3000:2018 Electrical installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules) have released the new mandatory requirements for the type of protection installed on Electrical circuits.

The new Standards outline that Residual Current Devices (RCD's) must be provided for all final subcircuits in domestic and residential electrical installations

The previous Standards required that RCD's be installed on all Power and Light circuits. The new 2018 updated Standards have expanded this to include ALL circuits including Power, Lights, Smoke Alarms, Stove, Hot Water System, Air Con etc.

Does your switchboard meet these new Standards?

Porcelain Fuses

These types of fuses are dated and provide minimal protection against Electrocution.

Residual Current Devices (RCD's)

RCD's are life saving devices that are designed to prevent electric shock if a person makes contact with a live wire by tripping the involved circuit within 0.3 Seconds. They are also known to provide protection against electrical fires.
